Jenell Kesler Elephant Stone have floated in a bit of bright transcendent psychedelic pop that flowers like a half remembered dream, shimmering in all the right places, yet held just out of reach with introspective vocals, surrounded by lush harmonies and meandering instrumentation, all coalesced around an enigmatic theme of longing … surrendering to the void.

Dare I suggest that this was the album John and Paul had envisioned, as the Beatles turned off their minds and floated downstream.

Lavinie Cloutier J'ai tous leurs CD sauf les albums récents parce que je les ai vu en spectacle au FME à Rouyn-Noranda à quelques reprises.

When I did awake this morning Time kept moving without warning Past and present now have no meaning Life and love were something that were oh so fleeting I waited until these thoughts passed But sometimes they just seem to last Time and space now have no relation There is no way to awaken Clouding all my thoughts throughout the day Confusing me Collapsing into my deepest fears Of all I see I don’t want to be Hung up on a dream Can you wake me I’m lost in a dream Days they seem to be lost to visions Of worlds in televisions Where can I find some meaning Is there something that’s worth believing Clouding all my thoughts throughout the day Confusing me Collapsing into my deepest fears Of all I see I don’t want to be Hung up on a dream Can you wake me I’m lost in a dream I waited until these thoughts passed But sometimes they just seem to last I don’t want to be Lost in a dream Can you wake me I’m lost in a dream
2.
The Spark 03:30
Holding out for something special To come around Like we all did in the old days Something profound Where is the spark That you used to find? You’re lost in the dark And nothing was found All the thoughts that you’ve been having Won’t seem to pass Now you’re putting pen to paper With a half-empty glass Where is the spark That you used to find? You’re lost in the dark And nothing was found All the pain that you held onto Hoping it would somehow amuse Leaving out all the fine details Obscuring the truth Praying that you’ll find direction Hoping you’ll have much more to say Leaving all your cards on the table for a rainy day Where is the spark?
3.
I found a reason Something to believe For once in my life I could finally feel free From all the things that would keep us kids down Learned a few chords and a new sound Underground is where I’m gonna be Far from their society Just watch I’m going underground The Who ‘Live at Leeds’ played on my stereo I slipped the Ox back to mono Singing about things that we'd understand It’s all about Mary Anne with the sh-sh-shaky hands Underground is where I’m gonna be Far from their society Just watch I’m going underground We never did conform or bend down to their norms We just stayed away and underground Underground is where I’m gonna be Far from their society Just watch I’m going underground We’ll be happy underground We’ll be happy underground
4.
History repeating Is there nothing that we learned From the heartbreak And the graves that we unearthed Is there healing Can we start to understand All the losses All the pain that’s passed to kin What has happened What is wrong and what is right So hard to imagine But we cannot end the fight Are you receiving Can you see through shuttered eyes All the suffering In the name of godly lies What has happened What is wrong and what is right So hard to imagine But we cannot end the fight Look inside (what will we find there) Recognize this feeling Look around (all this suffering) It’s history repeating History repeating (no more, no more)...

Dovelikes eyes chasing smiles Awaken from a dark and golden dreamworld Casting shadows far and wide Stirring petals of the newborn flowers No one moves, no one speaks While the Gods quietly weep See the dance of light at play Clearing out the deepest of gray mornings Deliverance, light, and dawn The doves sing a morning song for no one No one moves, no one speaks While the Gods quietly weep Breaking dawn into day See how innocence fades away Drift along Hear new vibrations Touch the ground Feel the new sound I am the light I am the ego I am the source of all that you think you know (know that we know nothing) I am a god I am the center I am the cause and effect throughout your life (help me live forever) Staring at me Speaking for me Wanting to be free I be the spark You be the lighter Igniting fires after dark I bring the floods Go where you want to Give where you care to take as much Staring at me Speaking for me Wanting to be free The day’s end has finally come for me (finally come for me) Pride makes place for wisdom that’s not for me (wisdom, that’s not for me) Golden tridents shimmer so softly (simmer so softly) A distant temple’s bells they sing for me (calling me gently)
8.
Pilgrimage 05:25
Pilgrimage Hear the ocean wash in Taste the salty sea air See the clouds Slowly come float in Hear the thunder begin This for me That for you Is there nothing else that we can do I see life as it is And as it will be Pilgrimage On the edge Of the deep blue sea I see in me This for me That for you Is there nothing else that we can do I see life as it is And as it will be Pilgrimage
9.
On Our Own 03:36
Lost in all the memories we’re missing All the places that we’ve never been Feels like years since we left the country For India, Bali, or Berlin Looking back on the days since I met you Feels so far but so very clear Army boots and a torn up blue sweater Playing games like we were just kids On our own and I don’t mind At least I’m here with you On our own By our design There’s nowhere else I’d want to hide Dreaming of all the days when we’re older When life is slow and our hair are all gray Moving on through this big world together Loving life and all that we have made On our own and I don’t mind At least I’m here with you On our own By our design There’s nowhere else I’d want to hide But there was a time When I said I didn’t need you Babe, that was my pride obscuring the lines On our own and I don’t mind At least I’m here with you On our own By our design There’s nowhere else I’d want to hide It’s our design
10.
Another year gone and I’m still floating Another year gone and I’ve been thinking Of all the lovers, saints, and sinners who feel like I do And all the prophets who lined their pockets and shoes Another year gone and I’m still floating Another year gone and I’ve been dreaming And year gone And year gone And year gone (I’ll just keep floating with you)
